COVID-19: Seun Anikulapo-Kuti Critises Lagos State Over Food Programme

Afrobeat singer, Seun Anikulapo-Kuti has lambasted the Lagos State Government over the COVID-19 Emergency Response food provision.

The package includes food items that the state government wants to distribute to those in need due to the partial lockdown of some businesses.

Presently, Lagos is the epicentre of the COVID-19 in Nigeria with over 45 cases and three discharged.

In order to ameliorate the suffering of some people whose livelihood has been affected, the state government came up with the initiative to make food available being one of the necessities of life.

But, this didn’t go down well with Seun who is the son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, who said they can’t buy people’s conscience with food.

“WATS ALL DIS RUBBISH OGA GOVNOR, WILL YOU DISTRIBUTE DIS TO YUR FAMILY AND ELITE FRIENDS TOO, UNA TINK UNA FIT BUY OUR CONSCIENCE WIT DIS NONSENSE. PLS WETIN B APC ECONOMY STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR D PEOPLE? WE WAN KNOW. MAKE UNA KEEP DIS RUBBISH FOOD FOR UNA FAMILY & FRIENDS 2 CHOP,” he tweeted.
