DSS Has Promised That I Won’t Leave Their Detention Alive – Sowore

Human right activist, Omoyele Sowore has alleged that the Department of State Service (DSS) has promised that he won’t leave their detention alive.

Recall that DSS had released Sowore after Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu had given the Secret Police 24-hours to release him and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare after meeting their bail conditions.

At the resumption of his trial, the DSS was filmed disrupting a court proceeding in an attempt to arrest the RevolutionNow Protest Covener. The attempt was rebuffed by the comrades who were filming the security operative who attempted to shoot inside the court. The judge was escorted out of the court premises by her security orderly.

Speaking after the attempt, Sowore said they have carried out their threat with what has been done today.’

“Now, they have shown themselves to the whole country. What is important is Nigerians should know that i am not going to give up until every Nigerian benefit from a country that is theirs. And I have made it very clear that the tried to break me in prison, they sent delegations to me, offering kinds of gestures and i refused, and they promised that i would not walk out of the detention alive. That is what they came here to implement today. Nobody in Nigeria should be afraid. It is our country, and some people will have to make the sacrifice for this country to be a country of rule, of law and dignity.”

He pointed that if suspect that has been granted bail in court are not safe, the judges are not safe.

That’s why the judge had to retire hurriedly into her chamber. We urge you guys to hang around so that you can witness this historic day in Nigeria.”
