EFCC Apprehends Yahoo Boys In Ibadan

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ibadan Zonal Office, earlier today, March 26, 2019 launched on a location which was suspected to be a hideout of internet fraudsters also known as Yahoo Boys following series of reports from residents of the area on their alleged fraudulent activities in the REA.

Meanwhile, Tuesday’s early morning raid on apartments within the Kolapo Ishola Estate, in Akobo area of Ibadan resulted in the arrest of six young men between the ages of 24 and 30 years in the area.

The names of the suspects include: Tella Adefemi Ibrahim, Awoniyi Adeseye Abiodun, Oladele Olawale Wasiu, Olabiti Afeez Ajibola, Akeredolu Oluwafemi Temidayo and Oyaremi Olalekan Olabode respectively.

A series of intelligence gathered on apprehended suspects meant that the suspects who were arrested are deeply involved in all manners of fraudulent activities, including love scam, through which they illegally obtain money from unsuspecting victims.

When the suspected internet fraudsters were been arrested, EFCC operatives recovered five different models of exotic cars, laptops, mobile phones and several documents containing false pretences from the suspects.

However, the arrested suspected internet fraudsters will be charged to court as soon as investigations are done.
