— EFCC files Naira Marley 11 charges, risks 7 years in jail or not less than 5 million naira fine if found guilty.
Nigerian Singer, Afeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has been slammed 11 charges by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged credit card fraud.
The ‘Am I a Yahoo Boy” crooner was arrested alongside Zlatan and 3 others on Friday, May 10th at their home in Lekki. However, Zlatan and others were soon discharged on bail while Naira Marley remained in custody over incriminating evidence.
The charge was filed before a Lagos State High Court and he will be arraigned to court on the 20th of May.
One of the 11 counts reads, “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley and Yad Isril (still at large) on or about the 26th day of November 2018, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court conspired among yourselves to use access card No. 5264711020433662 issued to persons other than you in a bid to obtain gain and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 27 (1) (b) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015 and punishable under section 32 of the same act.”
If found guilty, the singer risks a “term of not more than seven years or a fine of not more than N5,000,000.”
