EFCC Nabs Kwara State Lawmaker Elect Over N26m Property Fraud

The Ilorin zonal office of EFCC has apprehended a member-elect of the Kwara State House of Assembly identified as Hon. Abdulgafar Ayinla over his alleged involvement in the likes of property scam, forgery and obtaining money under false pretence to the tune of about N26,000,000 (Twenty Six Million Naira).

The arrested person, who is expected to be sworn-in on May 29, 2019, has, meanwhile, confessed to the EFCC of crime, further stressing that he made use of the money to finance his political campaigns.

Also, the petitioner who lives in the United State of America, USA revealed that Ayinla who is a lawyer was introduced to her by her late Aunt as capable of assisting her purchase some properties in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

She said in a statement:

“The Lawmaker-elect sold to me another two plots of land with four bedroom bungalow at window level at Agric area of Ilorin. I paid N8, 240, 000 (Eight Million Naira Two hundred and Forty Thousand Naira) commission of which Ayinla informed me that the seller had received his money but he never pay the money to the seller up till today, and never refunded the money to me.”

The suspect, Ayinla, stated that he diverted the money to his personal use and promised to return the money back when he receives his wardrobe allowance from the Kwara State House of Assembly.

Report has it that Ayinla would soon be charged to court.
