Empire Drops Jussie Smollett Character After Being Arrested For Assault Hoax

Jussie Smollett has been on the news lately all for the wrong reasons after filing a fake police report headlining racists and homophobic attacks. TV Series, Empire in response to this have dropped the character Jamal from the remaining two episodes of the TV Show.

This news comes after the Empire star was charged with felony misconduct after filing a false police report, just in tandem with a report earlier made by iDONSABI.com

The Police claim that Smollett staged the homophobic and racist attacks to promote his career having being left unhappy by his salary pay.

Empire Producers, Twentieth Century Fox and its executive producers have now dropped Smollett from the cast of the show and indeed the character Jamal from the TV Series.

They have also issued a written statement to that effect wherein they have stated that they dropped the character so as to avoid disruption on set.

“While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of Jamal from the final two episodes of the season.”

TV Series, Empire which premiered in 2015 is now in its fifth season and have had Smollett play the role of Jamal, a talented singer-songwriter since then.

Smollett has now turned himself in to the police and has been jailed after a court appearance. According to the prosecutors, the actor had staged a hoax after giving instructions to his attackers (Nigerian brothers) on the exact words to use in order to give the impression that they were homophobic and racist attacks on him for being gay and white all at once.
