Everton would be hosting Leicester in a match betting tipsters expect to be entertaining, grueling and goal-laden. Both teams would be looking to get off the New Year on a good note after suffering defeats in their previous games. A look at both teams:

Everton

Marco Silva’s side would be excited to play their first match at the Goodison park against a Foxes side that has suffered a disaster of tragic proportions in late 2018. They would however be wary of the side that has caused an upset for teams such as Chelsea and Manchester City. Granted that an Everton team with an in-form Richarlison is capable of taking home the ball with a win. Goals should come from either sides at any rate.

Leicester

8th-placed Leicester would require a win at the Goodison park to keep their hopes of European football high. A loss can see them all the way down to 13th on the log. Last time out, the Foxes suffered a shock defeat to low scoring Cardiff side. Claude Puel, who had previously complained about the fixture rush and the toll it has taken on his players would term this a must-win situation.

Claude Puel’s take on his match against the Toffees:

Sometimes, this situation arrive. We will see the players available for us, the recovery and the rest. We want to try to have a good intensity in our performance against Everton

Team News

Although Ademola Lookman had missed the last three games due to an ankle injury, he would be assessed for the match against the Foxes. Gylfi Sigurdsson is likely to retain his spot in the starting line-up. At any rate, Richarlison is expected to lead the pack as the Brazilian talisman has bagged most of the goals for the Toffees this term

The Foxes on the back of a heavy run of fixtures may be tempted to shuffle their team ahead of the trip to Merseyside. Although, Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan should be available for contention. Daniel Amartey, though, remains out.

Match Prediction

Head-to-head match statistics go in favour of Everton. But can we give a repeat of Leicester’s victory at the Goodison park in December, 2015 a chance? The match ended 3-2 with the Foxes getting the win. We’ll find out when we get back.

Scores

And there you have it! It was a thrilling encounter between the Foxes and Toffees at Goodison Park. It was back and forth football with Lucas Digne and Richarlison creating lots of attacking threat for Everton from the left flank. Although, bookmakers and tipsters favoured a win for the Toffees, it was just as we predicted. It was a win for Leicester as a Ricardo Perreira through-pass set Jamie Vardy through on goal for a calm finish into the bottom-right corner of Pickford’s net.

Everton 0-1 Leicester
