– Ayodele Fayose and Femi Fani Kayode have left aside political differences and have gone ahead to commend Pres. Muhammadu Buhari for honouring MKO Abiola
– Fayose said honouring MKO Abiola by Muhammadu Buhari
is to Obasanjo’s shame
Former Governor of Ekiti state and well known critic of Pres. Muhammadu Buhari, Ayodele Fayose in a latest statement has commended President Buhari for honouring late Chief MKO Abiola.
Fayose added that honouring MKO Abiola by Muhammadu Buhari
is to Olusegun Obasanjo’s shame despite the fact that the former President was the greatest beneficiary of the June 12 struggle.
Ayodele Fayose in his statement said, “Honouring MKO Abiola by Muhammadu Buhari
is to Obasanjo’s shame. It remains a sore-point of his political history that because of ego, Obasanjo, who’s the greatest beneficiary of the June 12, 1993 struggle failed to honour his kinsman, MKO Abiola. So, I commend President Buhari.”
Also in a similar statement, former Min. for Aviation and critic of Pres. Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Fani-Kayode also commended the President for the move.
He said the fact that Pres. Buhari had the courage to name the Abuja National Stadium after MKO Abiola is great news and it cannot be taken away from him.
The former Aviation Minister added that it doesn’t matter who built the stadium.
Femi Fani-Kayode said, “Let us be fair and let us not allow our opposition to Buhari stop us from reasoning in a logical and coherent manner. It doesn’t matter who built the Nat. Stadium. The fact that Buhari had the courage to name it after MKO Abiola is great news and it cannot be taken away from him.”
President Buhari had during the June 12 Democracy Day renamed the Abuja National Stadium, which reports claimed was built by the administration of former Pres. Obasanjo, after MKO Abiola.
