Federal College of Agriculture Staff Charged To Court Over N738, 200.00 Fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have charged an Executive Officer at the Federal College of Agriculture in Ibadan, Identified as Kabiru Oladele, to court for allegedly defrauding the Federal College of Agriculture of N738, 200.00.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a suit presented before Justice A.L Akintola, of the Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, laid a charge on Kabiru Oladele.

The charge was based on defrauding the school when he collected N738, 200.00 as school fees from a part-time student without remitting the money to the school’s account.

Kabiru Oladele of the Federal College of Agriculture was also accused of making false returns as well as giving a fake bank teller to the college with a view of the stated amount of money to be used as evidence of the school fees paid by the student.

ICPC informed the court that the offence laid against Kabiru Oladele contravened Sections 16 and 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and punishable under the same sections.

Further part of the accused alleged offence also consisted giving a false document to the Federal College of Agriculture in Ibadan with the feeling that it may be acted upon as genuine and true, contrary to Section 465 of the Criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation 2004.

The accused, Kabiru Oladele, pleaded not guilty to all the charge when the charges of defrauding were read to him.

Kabiru Oladele, the accused was, however, granted bail by the court in the sum of N2 million and two sureties in like sum who must reside within the premises of Oyo State and not beyond.

Justice Akintola, the judge of the court, further adjourned the case of Kabiru Oladele to 5th March 2019 for hearing.
