Federal High Court In Abuja Sacks Delta State Senator-elect Peter Nwaoboshi

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has on Wednesday, April 3rd, sacked the Senator-elect representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator identified as Peter Nwaoboshi.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed, the Judge, while in a Judgment delivered held that Peter Nwaoboshi who is a serving senator was not the winner of the October 2, 2018 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP’s) primary held to select a candidate for the 2019 general election.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed further ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish the name of Ned Nwoko as the candidate of the PDP, having proven before the court that Ned Nwoko, his rival, scored a majority of the lawful votes at the primary election which was held.

The court also added and warned that Senator Peter Nwaoboshi should desist from parading himself as the candidate of the PDP for the senatorial zone.

Ned Nwoko through his counsel led by one Ahmed Raji, had dragged INEC, PDP, and the sacked senator, Nwaoboshi, before the court praying for an order to stop INEC from publishing the name of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as the candidate for Delta North Senatorial District.

Ned Nwoko, the rightful candidate further pleaded for another order compelling the PDP to forward his name to INEC as the authentic candidate of the party for the senatorial district in the 2019 general election.
