Femi Falana decries the high rate of killings says it is a sign of anarchy

– Femi Falana also spoke on the claims that Atiku Abubakar is from Cameroon

Legal Practitioner and human right activist, Femi Falana in a statement over the weekend during a press conference organized by Premium Times Center for Investigative Journalism PTCIJ has decried the high rate of killings in the country.

Femi Falana disclosed that the killings have increased since the end of the 2019 General election.

He described the situation of killings in various part of the country as a sign of anarchy

Femi Falana said: “What the country is currently witnessing in terms of increasing violence, banditry and insurgency is a sign of anarchy.

“Since the 2019 elections have been concluded the duty imposed on the media is to ensure that political parties and elected officials are held accountable.”

He declared that everyone living in Nigeria irrespective of their nationalities are entitled to adequate security and protection.

All persons living in Nigeria including citizens by birth or naturalisation, dual citizens, foreigners, refugees and asylum seekers are entitled to adequate security and protection,” he added.

There have been high rate of killings especially in the Northern part of the country recently to the extent that the National Assembly has had to summon the Inspector General of Police.

Femi Falana also called out the All Progressive Congress APC over their statement on the nationality of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Alh. Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku Abubakar was born in Adamawa state but there are reports that he was born in cameroon

Femi Falana in his statement stressed that if Atiku Abubakar is from Cameroon, it means that all those who voted for President Muhammadu Buhari in Atiku’s ward are also from Cameroon.
