FG happy with the UK and the US desire for a credible and peaceful election – Lai Mohammed
– Min. of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed said the Federal Government is happy with the desire of the UK and US for a credible and peaceful election
– He urged both countries to monitor the election process
Yesterday, the United Kingdom and the United States of America made their stands known about the Nigerian 2019 General election.
The two countries disclosed that they will place any individual or group that tries to rig the coming election on a travel ban and also move for persecution according to international laws.
According to the statement released by the UK and US, the developed countries declared that they don’t have a preferred candidate.

The Federal Government of Nigeria in a statement released by the Min. of Information and Culture disclosed that the government is happy with the decision taken by the UK and the US towards the coming election.
He said,
”A few days ago, we alerted the nation to the plot by the opposition to orchestrate widespread violence in the country, using insurgents and criminal elements within and outside the country. Their plan is to scuttle the election and then push for an interim government, having realized they can’t win free, fair, credible and peaceful elections.
”The fact that those statements came after we issued our red alert, which is based on credible intelligence, shows that the international community is closely monitoring events ahead of the election. We urge them to keep a close tab on the desperate opposition, whose language, actions and undisguised threats are antithetical to the conduct of peaceful polls.”
Lai Mohammed further stated that the All Progressive Congress doesn’t have any reason to rig in the forthcoming election.
He added that the FG believe in the credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to carry out a peaceful and credible election.
