FG Not Ready to Fight COVID-19 – Adeyanju

Human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju has said that the Federal Governement is not ready to fight the COVID-19 epidemic.

This he stated when he took to his Twitter page on Monday, lamenting the strategies being used by the government and lack of testing kits and laboratories, and refusal to observe precaution could spell doom for the country.

“Lack of gov’t action, testing kits & labs, and refusal to observe precaution turned Italy into the new Wuhan where officials have stopped counting death toll. The Nigerian Govt is obviously not ready & haven’t learnt anything from Italy.”

While noting that only a national lockdown can stop the spread of this virus, he urged the government not to allow the country’s situation to turn to that of Italy.

“Only a national lockdown can stop the spread of this virus. If we still don’t see that, then I don’t know what else to say.”
