Former United Man Evra Retires From Football At 38

Manchester legend, Patrice Evra has called it time on a very illustrious career as a football player has he forges ahead to take up a managing role.

The 38 year old who has now hung up his boots after a successful 20 year playing career is best remembered as Manchester United’s best-ever roving left-back.

He joined the Red devils in the January transfer window of 2006 from Monaco for a deal worth £5.5million before going on to make 273 appearances and scoring three goals during his time at Old Trafford.

During this period, the French man won a Champions League trophy, five Premier League titles and three league cups.

He then left for Juventus – after the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson – where he lifted three Serie A titles.

Afterwards, Evra returned home to play for Marseille after spending three years in Turin with Juventus.

It was during his time in the Ligue 1 with his Marseille side that the 38 year old made the headlines for the wrong reason – kicking a fan in the head.

Evra had just finished a warm-up session ahead of an Europa league match against Vitoria where he became involved in a fight with fans of the away side and punted one.

Following this, the former United man was fired by Marseille and even suspended from football for as much as seven months.

He made a final stop at West Ham in 2018 but was released after making just five appearances for the Hammers.

Evra made a total of 81 appearances for the France National Team but failed to register any goal.

He has been very vocal about the ongoing at Old Trafford and how the boat could be turned around.

He is also well known for his social media antics where he regularly uploads clips of himself doing weird and wonderful things with the slogan “I love this game”.
