Nollywood Yoruba actress, Funmilayo Ogunsola popularly known as Ijewuru has been declared dead after suffering a heart attack in the early hours of Monday, the 4th of February, 2019.
The news was reported by one Adebisi Olasumbo Ogunsola thought to be a family member. Adebisi shared pictures of the veteran actress and addressed her as grandma.
Adebisi stated that the late Ijewuru would be missed by all and prayed that God forgave all her sins. Adebisi Olasumbo further added that a mother like her was scarce – being that she was good, prayerful and friendly – and even suggested that Ijewuru was a mother to all.
“I never thought I’d ever use these pictures to say RIP to you ma but who am I to question you, God?. Mother like you is very scarce. A very good, prayerful, and friendly mother to all. We (Ogunsola Isho Pepper) are all going to miss you Grandma Ogunsola Funmilayo Iya Ijewuru. May God forgive you of all your shortcomings and grant you eternal rest. Rest on the Bosom of our Lord Christ till we meet and part no more”, wrote Adebisi Olasumbo.
The late Funmilayo Ogunsola also known and addressed as Ijewuru was the fourth wife out of five of the late veteran Yoruba actor, Ishola Ogunsola aka I show Pepper and is most notable for her deaf-like roles in movies.
Her husband was a founding member of the Association of National Theater Arts Practitioners and died in the year 1992.
His contemporaries include Femi Adeyemo aka Babangbalife, later Jagua (Afolabi Afolayan), Charles Oluomo and Jimoh Alihu.
This spells a bad news for Nollywood with the Nigerian Entertainment Industry seeing a lot of its actors and actresses die in recent years.
Last year the industry lost some stars in Okwy Chukwujekwu, Uduah Akrah, Aishat Abimbola, Nora Nkiruka Ngo among others.
