Governor Rotimk Akeredolu’s spokesman said: “As far as we are concerned, it is a rumour. The governor did not receive any query. The matter itself is an internal affair of the party which will be handled by the party.”

But a report has made it known that the alleged decision taken by the APC National Working Committee has caused friction among party members loyal to Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu and those who are displeased with what is going on in the APC at state level in Ondo.

The report hinted that both sides have taken to their social media accounts to blast one another.

One of the loyalist to Gov. Akeredolu, Hon Otito Atikase, who happens to be the caretaker Chairman of Ilaje Local Government stated that the Ondo Governor is a principled man and would not allow anything that is not right.

He said, “Aketi is a principled man who does not play politics with ‘anything goes’. He will not allow anything that is not right to be done.”
