Gov. Seriake Dickson – ‘ I don’t believe six days is enough for INEC to resolve it struggles’
– Gov. Seriake Dickson has disclosed doubts on whether INEC would be able to resolve it struggle within six days
– He disclosed that there would be a constitutional crisis if the election fails to take place at this rescheduled date
– Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson in a press conference statement yesterday in the state capital, Yenagoa, spoke about the postponed election by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
Seriake Dickson noted that he is unsure if the 6 days duration to the rescheduled election is enough for INEC to resolve it challenges.
He disclosed that postponing the election belittled the country and portrayed it as an unserious country.
The Bayelsa Gov. made it known that failure to hold the rescheduled election on Saturday would lead to an election crisis.
He however, made it known that there was need for stakeholders in the election to come together to avert the crisis.

Gov. Dickson in his statement said, “If anything should go wrong, we will have a full-blown crisis; crisis of succession at a time the Supreme Court is also undergoing crisis. We should not call for the removal of the INEC Chairman. If INEC is in crisis and the Supreme Court is crisis, I don’t know where we are headed.”
Serials Dickson added that the meeting should comprise of political party chairmen and the presidential candidates in order to “examine the developing scenario, which may plunge our country into crisis. I believe that if we all sit down and know the circumstances, we should agree on a new date.”
He added that he disagreed with INEC’s unilateral announcement of selecting Saturday as the new date for the presidential election.
“I do not believe that all the challenges that INEC has can be resolved within six days. A more sensible approach is needed. Our nation cannot afford another postponement,” he added.
