Gunmen In Lagos State Abducts Lagos Fire Service Boss and Seven Others

The acting Director of the Lagos State Fire Service identified as Rasaki Musibau and seven others have been kidnapped by gunmen along Itoikin-Epe road in Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area, LCDA in the state, reports suggest.

As at Sunday, the identity of the seven others abducted by the gunmen on sunday within the axis were still not identified.

Further report also has it that the kidnappers stormed the bridge at about 8 pm and stopped vehicles conveying the victims at Iwoye bridge; they ordered them to get down from their vehicles and led them to an unknown destination.

Witnesses around the area has stated that the axis had become the new den for kidnappers in recent time after abducting Ikosi-Ejirin council chairman identified as Mr. Ajijedidun Samson Adebisi and Vice chairman of Lekki LCDA, were last month kidnapped within the area as well.

Confirming the abduction was the Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO identified as Bala Elkana, said that the Lagos Commissioner of Police identified as Muazu Zubairu, has immediately deployed a special squad to ensure quick rescue and apprehend of the perpetrators.

The PPRO, Bala Elkana said in a statement:

“It is true. The abduction happened yesterday at about eight pm on Iwoeye bridge along Ikosi-Ejirin-Epe road. Some hoodlums blocked the bridge and wisked seven persons including the director of fire service. The Lagos Commissioner of Police, Muazu Zubairu, has visited the scene last night.

“And we have deployed our special anti-kidnapping unit to comb the entire axis, rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators. “I want to assure the family of the victims that they should remain calm. The Nigerian Police has started trailing the perpetrators and we assure them that the victims will be rescued alive. We have intensified patrol on that axis and other adjourning roads.”
