Gunmen in military uniform attack truck conveying election materials in Benue State
Reports reaching us at iDONSABI.com say gunmen in military uniform have attacked a truck conveying election materials in Benue State.
The attack occurred in the Logo area of the state.
The State INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, confirmed the attack, though he didn’t reveal if the attackers made away with any of the election materials.
However, he said the vehicle that was attacked was conveying “non-sensitive election materials.”
He said:
This is true. “Recently, our vehicle which was conveying non-sensitive materials was attacked along Logo area by people in military uniforms.
The 2019 general elections is scheduled to begin tomorrow (February 16 2019) with the Presidential and National Assembly elections. The governorship elections is scheduled for February 23 2019.
