“I Can’t Breathe!”- African-American, George Floyd Dies After Police Officer Kneels On His Neck (Video)

Protesters have clashed with police in the US following the death of an unarmed black man, George Floyd who pleaded he could not breathe as a white officer kneeled on his neck during an arrest.

This happened in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A footage of the restraint has gone viral online after a bystander filmed the policeman pinning the suspect, George Floyd, to the ground ignoring his pleas of “I can’t breathe.”

Floyd, thought to be in his 40s, slowly grew silent and motionless, unable to move even as the officers taunted him to “get up and get in the car.”

Four officers involved in the arrest have since been fired, with the city’s mayor Jacob Frey saying: “This is the right call.”

George Floyd was taken to hospital where he was later declared dead.

The city’s mayor, Frey expressed outrage as calls rose for the officers to be prosecuted for murder.

What I saw was wrong at every level,” he said of the video.

“For five minutes, we watched as a white officer pressed his knee into the neck of a black man. Being black in America should not be a death sentence.”
