“I Was Assaulted By Policemen For Refusing Them Sex” – FUTA Student

A female student of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo State was left with serious injuries by policemen. She revealed that she was assaulted for refusing to have s-x with them after she was stopped on her way from church.

The student, Sheba Ogbu explained that the incident happened around 9:30pm along Oyemekun Road in Akure on Sunday, August 25. She said the policemen took her to their van and smashed a stone on her head for declining to have sex with her.

However, the Ondo state Police spokesperson Femi Joseph said a different thing as he made a statement saying the two students were drunk and refused to be searched when the police stopped them. A policeman then pushed one of them (Sheba Ogbu) and she fell down.

“The students were stopped by the policemen on patrol on Sunday night, and when they were asked to open the bag they held, they refused, that was what caused an argument between them, leading to one of them to slightly push the lady. But because the lady was drunk, she fell down and got injured.

“In spite of that, as I am speaking with you now, the policeman in question has been arrested and will face trial today ( Tuesday). He would definitely be punished,” the spokesman said.
