I Will Make Bayelsa Great Again, Governor-Elect David Lyon Vows

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor-elect of Bayelsa State, David Lyon, has dedicated his victory to the people of Bayelsa state.

Lyon in a statement shortly before he was declared the winner of the governorship election held in Bayelsa on Saturday vowed to “make the state great again”. The governor-elect stated this in his tweet.

Lyon was a returned elected after polling 352,552 votes while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 143,172.

Lyon won in six out of eight local government areas, according to results announced by the Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, Vice-chancellor, University of Benin, at the INEC Collation Centre in Yenagoa.

It was reported that some of the residents in the state trooped out to celebrate the win that broke PDP’s dominance in the state since 1999.
