INEC Declares Kano State Governorship Election Inconclusive Due To Margin of Victory
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially come out to declare the governorship election held in Kano State, inconclusive.
Professor Belo Shehu, identified to be the INEC Returning officer for Kano state, declared the election inconclusive, stressing that the margin of lead and gap between the two leading parties (PDP and the APC) in the state was not enough to declare and announce a winner.
Recall that on Monday, idonsabi.com reported that INEC declared Benue state Governorship election inconclusive as well due to uncertainty in the results conducted in the state.

Prof. Belo Shehu, the INEC returning officer in Kano state, while announcing the number of votes polled added that the PDP’s candidate identified as Mr. Abba Yusuf polled 1,014,474 votes while Abdullahi Ganduje, Governorship candidate of the APC polled 987,819 votes.
The returning officer, Prof Belo Shehu further stressed that the difference of 26,655 votes which was recorded in the Governorship election was not enough to hand Abba Yusuf, the Governorship candidate for the PDP victory in Saturday’s election in the state.
The returning officer also stressed that the cancellation recorded during the exercise which is a total of 128,572, was higher than the margin of lead between the top contenders, hence, that was the core reason for arriving at an inconclusive verdict.
