- Onochie taunts Atiku over $140 debt owed by Atiku’s company.
- Atiku institutes defamation suit against the presidential aide.
Lauretta Onochie, Special Assistant to the president on social media has again tackled former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic (PDP), Atiku Abubakar to pay up the debt his company, Intels is owing the Nigeria Port Authority (NPA).
The Agency has therefore cancelled its contract with the company for not remitting over $140m and the commission charged by Intels is on the high side compared with other companies offering the same service, according to NPA Managing Director, Hadiza Usman.
“Intels owes Nigeria over $140m’-Managing Director of NPA, Ms. Hadiza Bala Usman Excuse me Sir, Atiku, have you seen this? Please pay up. We have a ranch to build for the beautiful people of Adamawa. Thanks as you pay Oya, Wailers, defend your debtor!”
In another development, Atiku has dragged Onochie to court over an alleged libel and defamation of character.
Atiku is claimed that Onochie alleged that he is for terrorists, accusing him of being on the “watchlist” of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for corruption as well as shopping for terrorists in the Middle East.
After been told to apologise for the comment, Onochie did not provide any evidence for her claims and allegations against Abubakar.
The former vice president asked Onochie to publish a retraction in six national newspapers and one international daily as well as on social media.
“To say that the claimant is shopping for terrorists knowing same to be untrue and without any foundation is not only dishonest and reckless, but is calculated and politically designed to instigate security agents against him not only in the UAE, but across the world,” He mentioned filing the suit in the statement.
Mike Ozekhome (SAN), filed a N2.5bn suit against Onochie before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on June 26 after Onochie failed to apologise to the former VP over a tweet he said was libellous.
