Team News

Inter Milan

The first leg saw Inter waste many chances at the Camp Nou, as they failed to threaten Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. The Nerrazurri returned to winning ways in the Serie A after the first leg against Barca by thrashing Lazio 3-0 with Mauro Icardi and Marcelo Brozovic doing serious damage at the Stadio Olympico.

Luciano Spelleti’s side came from behind to record a 2-1 win over Tottenham in their group opener on September 18, before recording a 2-1 victory away to PSV at the start of October. They will be looking to win against a strong Barca side who now have Lionel Messi back in the team.

Ofcourse Inter Milan were the last Italian team to win the Champions league. Jose Mourinho led the team to glory in 2010 and Inter fans would absolutely love to experince that again, but Barcelona is on the way to that reality.

Radja Nainggolan is back from injury ans is in line to start in this match.

Sime Vrsaljko is in line to start at right-back, with Miranda and Kwadwo Asamoah also returning to the team having been rested at the weekend.

Mauro Icardi was benched in the match for Genoa at the weekend but will be keeping is his center forward position for tuesday match.

Barcelona

Barca defeated Inter 2-0 at the Camp Nou on matchday 3 and will go through as group winners with a victory in Italy. While Inter will still have serious hope of qualifying for the last 16 even if they suffer another defeat. A win against Ernesto Velverde’s side for Inter would all but ensure Spurs’ exit from the competition.

Barca talisman, and multiple World Footballer of the year award winner, Lionel Messi has not been given the all clear to play yet. This is according to Coach Velverde, who is waiting for the medical team before he gives a final verdict.

But one sure thing is Messi has resumed training and has also travelled with the squad to Italy.

Ousmane Dembele could be handed a start with Messi coming off the bench to replace him later on. Thomas Vermaelen and Samuel Umtiti are still sidelined with injury. Arthur, Rakitic and Sergio Busquets should maintain their position in the starting eleven.
