Juventus vs. Manchester United – UCL November 2018 Preview and Scores

Match Preview

Juventus have the chance to secure a top place finish in Champions league Group H when they face Manchester United on Wednesday night.

Just a point will be enough to see them through to the next round after defeating the Red Devils 1-0 in the reverse fixture, a fortnight ago.

Team News

Juventus

Beaten finalists in 2015 and 2017, the Bianconeri have not been crowned champions of Europe since 1996 and they look more committed to winning the prestigious competition again, reason why they also invested in the competition’s most successful player, Christiano Roanldo in the summer.

Paulo Dybala has been the star of the show in Europe so far, scoring four goals including a hat-trick against Young Boys on matchday two and the winner against United last time out. Christiano Ronaldo has also been in a blistering form this season and will be one to watch out for on wenesday.

Juventus are also one of the two teams yet to concede a goal in the champions league this season.

Blaise Matuidi and Douglas Costa are out after both players came off injured at the weekend with hip and adductor problems respectively. Mario Mandzukic has started some light training while Sami Khedira could feature for the first time since matchday one.

Juventus possible starting eleven:

Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Bentancur, Khedira, Pjanic; Cuadrado, Dybala, Ronaldo

Manchester United

United lost the first leg 1-0 in Old Trafford and Jose Mourinho admitted Juventus were a level above them, leaving many to wonder what has happened to United.

Results have improved on the domestic front since that defeat, with back-to-back wins over Everton and Bournemouth – the latter of which came courtesy of a stoppage-time goal on Saturday – lifting United to within four points of the Champions League places.

The Red Devils have a very tough fixture against city rivals Manchester City and will want to get away with a win in Turin in order to mount a charge on Manchester City and defeat them.

Mou’s team have only leaked four goals in the last 10 European away games, which is in glaring contrast to their defensive record in the Premier League, where they have kept only one clean sheet so far this season.

Anthony Martial is the man of the moment with many goals in recent times and he is expected to start the match. Fellaini and Antonio Valencia are still out injured.

Man Utd possible starting eleven:

De Gea; Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Herrera, Matic, Pogba; Rashford, Sanchez, Martial

Head To Head

The two teams have met on 13 occasions in total in Uefa competitions, with United winning five games, Juventus, six, and the sides sharing two draws.
