Kaduna State Government imposes curfew at Kajuru area of the state

– Kaduna State Government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew at Kajuru over killings

– A report alleged that not less than 100 people have been killed in the last three days

According to a report, the Kaduna State Government has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew at some areas in the state including the Kajuru Local Government area.

The announcement was made public by Samuel Aruwan, the spokesperson to Gov. Nasir El-Rufai.

Samuel Aruwan in a statement disclosed that the curfew became necessary as a result of latest security assessment.

He disclosed that the curfew will commence on Wednesday from 6 pm to 6 am until further notice.

Samuel Aruwan also disclosed that the dusk to dawn curfew will be extended to Kujama and Maraban Rido, which are located at Chikun local government area of the state.

A report alleged that not less than 100 people have been killed in Karuju by unknown gunmen in the last three days.

Security agencies have been given the directives from the state government to ensure the strict enforcement of the curfew.

The people located in the affected areas are urged to bear the inconveniences of the curfew and cooperate with the security agencies.

Below is an extract from the statement released by Samuel Aruwan, it reads:

Security assessments have necessitated the imposition of a dusk to dawn curfew in all parts of Kajuru Local Government Area, effective from today, Wednesday, 13th March 2019. The dusk to dawn curfew is also extended to Kujama and Maraban Rido, which are in Chikun local government. ”

“Security agencies have been directed to ensure strict enforcement of the curfew. The Kaduna State Government appeals to all residents and communities in the affected areas to bear the inconvenience of the curfew and cooperate with the security agencies.”
