Kaduna State Govt disburses N300 million for scholarship

– The report made it known that the fund is for the first batch of beneficiaries of the new scholarship and loan scheme

A new report has made it known that the Kaduna state Government has released the sum of N300 million as fund meant for scholarship.

The report hinted that the fund which was recently disbursed is meant for first batch of beneficiaries of the new scholarship and loan scheme put in place by the state government.

Also according to the report, over 7,943 tertiary students are expected to have access to the scholarship scheme.

It was also revealed that the scholarship scheme has five schemes for undergraduate students and they are, Need Based Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, School Based Individuals Scheme, Athletic, Students with disabilities.

Below is a full statement released by the state Government,

The Kaduna State Govt has disbursed the sum of N300 million as scholarship to first batch of beneficiaries of the new scholarship and loan scheme. 7,943 tertiary students are pencilled to benefit from the scholarship which has five different schemes for undergraduate students.

Beneficiaries of the Need Based Scholarship are receiving N109,000 covering tuition fees and upkeep of the students and the Merit Scholarship beneficiaries are receiving N39,000.

Beneficiaries of School Based Individual Scheme for candidates studying health related course such as MBBS, Pharmacy, Nursing etc are being paid N129,000. Students with disability are receiving N109,000 and those in the athletics scheme are receiving N109,000.

For NCE and ND students, beneficiaries are being paid N76,000 under the Athletic scheme, N76,000 under the Individual School Scheme, while N26,000 is given to NCE beneficiaries under the Merit scheme.
