Kaka Tips Neymar To Win 2020 Ballon D’Or Award

Former Ballon D’Or winner and AC Milan attacker, Kaka has tipped his compatriot, PSG’s Neymar to pick the Ballon D’Or in the current year, but suggests that it could only be a possibility if the Parisians land a major title.

Kaka believes that there’s every possibility of the 28-year-old picking up the award.

The former Real Madrid playmaker, a former recipient of the award and the FIFA World Best Player of the Year award in 2007 believes Neymar could follow in the steps of former Barcelona mate, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Do I believe that Neymar can win it in 2020? He is one of the best players in the world, there is no doubt about it. What he needs now is to win a team title and be one of the main protagonists of this achievement,” Kaka said of his compatriot in an interview with AFP.

In terms of the Brazilian’s future ambitions, the Milan star who retired following a three year stint with Orlando City in the MLS believes he could make a comeback to professional football.

“I’m working to be a sporting director or a manager, that’s what I think will happen in the future,” the playmaker said. “But it won’t be today, because I still have many things to learn in many areas. Then I’ll see what opportunities are presented to me.”

The 37-year-old revealed that he is in close contact with PSG sporting director Leonardo, who he worked with during his time with Serie A giants, AC Milan.

“I talk a lot with him and he gives me a lot of good advice,” the 2007 Balon D’Or winner revealed.

Kaka helped Milan to a Champions League win, ending up as the tournament’s top scorer, helping the Rossoneris to a 2-1 over the Reds in Athens, Greece.
