Kane Optimistic He Could Be Back In Action In April

Tottenham talisman, Harry Kane has provided a positive update on his recuperation from a hamstring injury he sustained in January. The Englishman expected to be fully fit in time for the Lilywhites on two to three weeks as he is keen on hearing the verdict on whether the league is suspended or not.

The North London outfit have had to play their games since New Year’s Day without the England first-choice striker as the Spurs captain limped off in his club’s 1-0 loss to Southampton.

The 26-year-old went under the knife after rupturing a tendon in his left hamstring. Consequently, he was forced to sit out 16 games as he recuperated from the surgery.

The recovery of the English man was quickened in March as he allayed fears that he could be out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2020 Euro championship.

However, that championship has now been postponed owing to the Coronavirus pandemic that took the world by storm and forced leagues across Europe and the world to shut down.

Euro 2020 was postponed by a year with UEFA attributing this one-year postponement to providing leagues with enough grace and time to round up their respective leagues.

Harry Kane is optimistic he would be back in action by April. He has vowed to do his utmost best behind the scenes to get fit ahead of a new resumption date.

“I’m not too far away, I’d normally hope to be back with the team in two or three weeks’ time,” the Three Lions striker told Spurs TV   when asked for an update on his rehabilitation.

“I’m at a good stage, pretty much doing everything, now it’s about building up my fitness. So from my personal point of view, I’m in a good place.

“It’s such a strange situation, no-one has been in this situation before. Like anything, you have to take the positives out of it and do what you can. So far, me and the family are well, and I’ll continue to work hard, work in the gym, work from home and do what I can. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
