Kano Positioning Itself to Trigger Education Revolution – Osinbajo
- VP Says Buhari committed to investment in human capital.
- Says Nigerian will prevail over its challenges.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that Kano state has started positioning itself for revolution in education.
Osinbajo who stated after attending a two-day summit on Free and Compulsory Primary and Secondary Education in Kano state said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is committed to investing in human capital.

“It is worthy to note what Kano is doing with Education. They are positioning themselves to trigger an education revolution.
“President Muhamamdu Buhari is committed to investing in human capital and we will work in tandem with State Governments to ensure basic education development.
“It is why it was my pleasure to attend the two-day summit on Free and Compulsory Primary and Secondary Education in Kano State.”
Speaking on his visit to Bayero University, Kano where he commissioned a 7.1MW solar hybrid power plant, the largest off-grid solar hybrid power plant in Africa, the Vice President said Nigeria will prevail over power challenge.

“The Energizing Education Initiative is an Initiative of the Rural Electrification Agency, REA Nigeria and the aim is to provide sustainable and clean power supply to 37 Federal Universities and 7 University Teaching hospitals across Nigeria.
“Phase 1 of the Initiative will deliver 28.5MW to 9 Federal Unis and 7 Teaching Hospitals using solar hybrid and/or gas-fired captive power plants.
“You will recollect that a few weeks ago, we commissioned the 2.8MW solar hybrid power project at the Alex Ekwueme Uni in Ebonyi State
“While in Kano State, I commissioned the 7.1MW solar hybrid power plant in Bayero University, Kano. This is the largest off-grid solar hybrid power plant in Africa.
“The installed 7.1MW decentralized solar hybrid power plant funded by the FGN Green Bond will supply 58,000 students and staff with clean, safe and reliable electricity. I believe honestly that together, Nigeria will prevail,” he said.
