However, Kemi Olunloyo has claimed that the actor died after he was exposed to someone with COVID-19 while on set.

She wrote;

Dareng died today on the set of his movie. He was EXPOSED to someone with #Covid19. People are dropping like flies in NYC and Italy. I have warned and warned. Pls go into #selfisolation, stop filming at this time. Someone on that set was infected. I tweeted all day. Matt Alkali was only 36yo. A very careful autopsy should be done. Virus is always active and bodies should be cremated RIP young man. NOLLYWOOD #dosomething.”

However, Dimbo Atiya has refuted the claims as she explained that Matt Alkali was absent from the the AMVCA and if he was exposed to Coronavirus, he would still be in the incubating period.

She also wrote that the actor was dealing with a blood clot condition and although they suggested an autopsy, his family refused as they want to “bury him in peace.” She also told Kemi Olunloyo that the windows are opened if she’s willing to perform an autopsy.
