Kemi Olunloyo Says COVID-19 Will Be in Nigeria Till June; This is Why

Controversial investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has said that Nigeria may battle the challenge of COVID-19.

According to her, Nigeria has come late into the party and the contract tracing being done by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is poor.

Nigeria currently has 210 cases with twenty new cases reported yesterday. From the twenty cases, Lagos which is the epicenter has three and followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with the same number. Edo has two while Osun State has one each. Out of the 210, 25 has patients have been discharged after testing negative twice and four deaths have been recorded.

Olunloyo who took to her Twiter page wrote: “#Nigeria faces a Phenomenal Threat as #Covid19 cases SPREAD! We’re coming late but I see this pandemic peaking at its worst by June 2020, Contact tracing poor by @NCDCgov #Social_Distancing poor by the people & arrogance by the rich.

On the 48 cases that were fro Eti-Osa Local Government, she noted that being a densely populated area that also had more foreign travels, there could be more in the coming days.
“48 of Lagos #CORONAVIRUS patients live in Eti-Osa LG. They are also in a densely populated area where they have more foreign travel “Abroad people” as they are called.”
