Kidnapper Evans’ wife begs Nigerians for Mercy

Uchenna Precious Onwuamadike, the wife of Evans the serial kidnapper, who got married to Mr Evans at the age of 17 in 2004, had an exclusive interview with a leading newspaper house in Nigeria. During the interview she claimed that she was not aware that her husband was a criminal. These were her exact words:

“I’m not aware that he was into crime. All I know about his business is that he was into haulage, buying engine and spare parts for trucks and imports exhaust pipes. I kept pestering him to fund a business for me and he promised to do that. I asked him on several occasions if I could visit his office but he made excuses saying they move about a lot to off load goods in haulage business and share profits. He always warned me against Lagos women hence he insisted I stayed indoors always. I was very confused when I heard all the allegations against him until I read about them on news websites.

I lost consciousness and later informed my children about what I had found out about their father when I gained consciousness. We have all been in shock since then. Our children have been in tears since they saw their father in that pathetic state. He does not sleep at home when we are in Lagos. I also wasn’t aware that he had five girlfriends. I know I should have seen the signs that he was into some dubious activities.

He has colon cancer so he does not smoke or drink. He never told me that he had a house in Igando. He reads psalm 23 every noon and even leads us in prayers. I’m appealing to the authorities to spare his life and mercy on us cause of his children. I wont have kept quiet if I knew was involved in such an act.All his wealth should be sold off and given back to his victims. I will like to plead with Governor Ambode of Lagos State to explain”.
