Kogi, Bayelsa governorship: PDP Sells Nomination Form for 20m

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pegged the nomination form for Kogi and Bayelsa State governorship elections at N20 million.

iDONSABI reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed November 16, 2019, for the two elections after adjusted it from 5th of the same month due to request from some stakeholders in Bayelsa .

Kola Ologbondiyan at a press briefing told newsmen at the end of the 86th Emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday,

According to Ologbondiyan, the expression of interest form would be N1 million while the nomination forms for women would be free.

Speaking on the increment in the price of the nomination form, the party spokesperson said the cost of conducting primary election was very high.

He, therefore, pledged that the party was going to conduct a free, fair and credible primary in Bayelsa and Kogi states to produce credible candidates.

In a document signed by PDP National Organizing Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd), the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) said sales and return of expression of interest/nomination forms would commence on Monday, June 24 and close Wednesday, July 24 at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

According to the same document, screening of aspirants would commence as on Monday, August 19, 2019, and the primary election to take place on the 3rd of September 2019 in the states.

Ologbondiyan expressed optimism that the PDP would win the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
