Kogi State Police Command arrest 52 Political Thugs for Electoral Offences

– The Kogi State Police Command has arrested 52 Political Thugs for electoral offenses during the 2019 General Election

According to a report, the Kogi State Police Command has arrested 52 political thugs, who were accused of electoral offense during the recent election.

The report was made public by the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, Hakeem Busari, who disclosed that the political thugs were arrested through the strategies put in place during the election with the directives of the Inspector General of Police IGP, Mohammed Adamu.

According to the police commissioner in the state, he disclosed that the political thugs were responsible for various election violence as well as kidnapping of some innocent citizens.

The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Busari in a statement said, “The operatives attached to the command, working on actionable intelligence and in compliance with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to clamp down on political thugs determined to stop the 2019 general elections in Kogi State, have arrested gangs responsible for various electoral violence as well as kidnapping of some innocent citizens.

“The gangs were also responsible for the kidnap of innocent citizens across the state. The suspects were apprehended in their various hideouts and locations across the state.”

The Commissioner also made it known that the thugs arrested have confessed for their various criminal roles.

They confessed for their various criminal roles in the commission of the crimes and admitted to have participated in political thuggery in the just concluded 2019 general elections,” he added.

The Police disclosed that items recovered from the suspects included 22 assorted guns.

Hakeem Busari also used the moment to declare his commitment to ridding the state of all criminals as he called for support from the members of the public.
