Lampard Urges Chelsea Fans To Keep Calm As Pulisic Finds Feet In Club

Frank Lampard has urged folks at the Stamford Bridge to exercise a little more patience for Christian Pulisic.

According to the English gaffer, the USA International has a lot of potential but is still finding his feet in West London.

Lampard insists that the American needs more time to adjust to the league.

A deal with Borussia Dortmund for the American playmaker generated a roaring buzz around Stamford Bridge especially with the impending departure of Eden Hazard.

Christian Pulisic, 21, is seen as one of the most promising youngsters in world football.

Making a switch to the Stamford Bridge for such a huge fee was always going to be a tough one for the 21-year-old and he has struggled over form ever since his move to London.

Chelsea faithfuls would however continue to keep their faith in the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker with the hope that becomes an able successor for the departed Eden Hazard.

When Lampard was quizzed on how far he thinks Pulisic had come in the league, he said:

“I have got four wingers now that they are all fit.

“It’s normal to have an adaptation. He has shown some good moments. We must give him a bit of time to adapt because of youth, change of league and living.

“They are all different, have different pathways. We know he has played in the Champions League.”

Chelsea will be buoyed by the fact that they also have a number of emerging talents on their books.

The duo of Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount – academy graduates of the club – have been prolific this campaign and Lampard is delighted with the progress that these stars have made.

“I think the fact we are seeing a great number of them on the pitch speaks for itself,” the former Derby County boss said.

“As a group yes, there is a lot of work ahead of them. The step into the first team is the easier one, now it’s about staying in it.

“They all seemed very comfortable [against Grimsby]. It was a different game to a Premier League game, but they are confident lads. They have every grounding and base needed.”
