Lampard Wins Premier League Manager Of The Month For October

Frank Lampard has  been awarded the Premier League manager of the month for the month of October.

The Chelsea gaffer was presented with this award after guiding his side to three successive league wins in the month, a result which saw the Blues move up to fourth on the Premier League standings.

The Blues legend was found deserving of the award after masterminding his side’s win against Southampton, Newcastle and Burnley.

The West London club have emerged as a strong force this term and have successfully put their slow start behind them.

They are now fourth on the league standings after 11 league games and are six points above fifth-placed Arsenal.

The Blues have now won eight of their last 10 league games across all competitions including a flawless run this month.

They started the month on the front foot, securing a 4-1 win over Southampton. They then followed this up by a 1-0 win over Newcastle after the International break.

An away game at Boogey team, Burnley seemed like a potential banana skin for the West London side but Christian Pulisic made sure of a resounding victory with a hattrick. Chelsea secured a 4-2 win over Sean Dyche’s side at Turf Moor.

Frank Lampard has now been recognized for the success of his team during the month of October with the Premier League manager of the month award, just ahead of a clash with Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.

Lampard finished ahead of Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, as well as other managers like Graham Potter, Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith.

The 41-year-od expressed his delight at claiming the accolade, thanking the rest of his staff who helped him to receiving the award. He then followed this up by recollecting his side’s dominating win against Burnley.

“Winning an individual award like this, my first one at the club, it is the perfect time to appreciate the close staff who have worked so hard since pre-season and the players, as they are the ones who go out and perform. I am delighted for everybody,” the former England International told Chelsea’s official website.

“I would probably say out of the Premier League games we played in October, the one away against Burnley was the highlight because of the way we were so dominant in our performance and Burnley is a very tough place to go. People may have questioned the fact that we are a young team and with the physical nature of the challenge, but we responded very well and played some really good football.

“It was a tight turnaround after a big performance physically for the lads at Ajax and with the travel back. To go up to Burnley at any time is difficult but we managed the game really well.”
