Latest – High Court In Abuja Grants Senator Dino Melaye Bail

Senator Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi west constituency, has finally been granted bail by an FCT High court in Maitama, Abuja.

The presiding judge known as Justice Halilu, granted him the bail at the resumed hearing of the case earlier today according to various sources as gathered by iDONSABI.

Prior to the case being adjourned yesterday, the presiding judge of the FCT High court in Maitama, Abuja, Justice Halilu had earlier ordered the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to explain the reason for the continued detention of senator Dino Melaye, who according to the presiding judge of the FCT High court in Maitama, Abuja had been in their custody since the turn of the year, precisely on the 4th of January, 2019.

The presiding judge of the FCT High court in Maitama, Abuja, Justice Halilu, gave the order after the counsel representing Senator Melaye, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), told the FCT High court in Maitama, Abuba presided by Justice Halilu, that his client (Senator Dino Melaye) had been in custody beyond the number of days which was stated by the law in the constitution.

Recall that at the time when Dino Melaye got arrested, he further went on to surrender to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). However, the senator representing Kogi west constituency, Senator Dino Melaye, slumped just minutes after he had surrendered to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

It is, however, unidentified of the certain amount of money which was paid by the counsel representing Senator Dino Melaye, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), in order to release the Senator which represents the Kogi west constituency.

The basic reason for the release of Senator Dino Melaye was because he was kept in police custody for more than the time he was meant to have stayed there without facing trial in court.
