1. Access Bank, Diamond Customers to Access Over 3, 100 ATMS For Free

Customers of Access and Diamond Banks can now use their Automatic Teller Machine, ATM, cards for transactions with other banks without the usual charge as from January 1, 2019.

This means that from January 1, 2019, you can use any Access or Diamond Bank ATMs without paying the usual charges that apply on withdrawals from other banks’ ATMs.”

In a Christmas and New Year message, Hezekiah said “Honestly speaking, I don’t know why APC decided to ask Buhari to stand for election again.

3. 20 Gencos Sell Power without Active Trading Agreements – NERC

It’s been reported that 25 power generation companies (GenCos) in Nigeria’s electricity market do not have active power purchase agreements (PPAs), five years after the country concluded its power market privatization,.

The status report from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), on Sunday in has also stated that 18 of the 25 power firms do not have guaranteed gas supply agreements (GSAs) with gas producers, thus indicating that the transactional terms between the Gencos and gas suppliers are perhaps operated on best-endeavor basis.

All of these violations could be the reasons for disrupted power supplyin most parts of the country.

4. Investing In Entertainment Will Curb Youth Restiveness, Says Patrick Obahiagbon

The former member of the House of Reps, Mr. Patrick Obahiagbon, on Sunday night urged increased investment in the entertainment industry. He said it was a strategy to eliminate youth restiveness.

Obahiagbon, the APC Candidate for Edo-South Senatorial District for the 2019 elections made the call on investors saying that although the industry had recorded tremendous growth over the years, its potential is yet to be fully harnessed. He revealed this in Benin at the Annual Edo Entertainment Recognition Award.

5. NCAA Sanctions Four Airlines over Violation of Regulations

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA has sanctioned four erring airline operators for several of violations of Nigeria’s civil aviation regulations.

The sanctions include withdrawal of operating licence of one of the airlines and payment of fines by the others.

The deficiencies include non-implementation of training programmes of maintenance personnel as required, irregu-larities concerning helicopter flight identification, deliberate violation of the regulations, performing maintenance programme without necessary approval and using outdated manuals.

NCAA said the above practices were in full violations of Nigeria’s civil aviation regulations.

Atiku shuns Nigerian youths, hires foreigner as social media consultant.

Atiku has hired a foreigner @ davidapride on tweeter as his Campaign Social Media Consultant, ignoring the many Nigerian youths who have said they were better suited for this job.

The question the youths are now asking is “Does he even believe in us?”

7. Peter Okoye Slams A Critic over Charity to Northern Less Privileged

Peter Okoye stepped out with his team yesterday to give out food items and cash to the less privileged on the streets of Lagos.

He shared some photos which showed him sharing out bags to some handicapped road side beggars.

A follower chastised him, accusing him of not extending his generosity to his igbo tribesmen.

The follower asked how many times a northerner has gone to the east to give out things.
But Peter would have none of that. He slammed the follower for tribalism saying that tribalism was a disease.

8. FFK Names Presidential Cabal

The issue of cabal holding President Buhari’s administration hostage first came to limelight when his wife, Aisha Buhari, alerted the nation of their existence. However, this claim is one the presidency has vehemently denied to be true. But the question remains why will a President’s wife lie against her husband?

Recently, the wife of the president, Aisha has sounded her claim again. But this time gave the cabal’s number without naming them.

The latest cabal revelation is coming from Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister.

The former minister has named 8 men he is alleging to be the presidential cabal.

According to him, the cabals are: Sani Zangon Daura, Mamman Daura, Ismaila Isa Funtua, Babagana Kingibe, Hamed Ali, Abba Kyari, Abdulrahman Dambazzau and Lawal Daura.

He named them in a tweet on Monday, adding that: “I know them ALL well. Some are educated, reasonable and fair-minded whilst others are shallow, primitive and dangerous.”

FFK’s claims comes a day after Reno Omokri, an ex-presidential aide, dug up an old photo of Godwin Emefiele, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, supposedly bowing down to take instructions from Mr Funtua.

9. Petrol Tanker Crushes 5 Cars on New Year’s Eve in Lagos

A truck carrying diesel just ran into vehicles along the Gbagada – Iyana Oworo bridge crushing five cars.

According to an eyewitness, no one died but several people were injured.

LASTMA officials who were on ground confirmed the accident saying, “there’s a multiple accident involving a loaded tanker and 5 vehicles at the descent of Gbagada Bridge and recovery work is on-going at the moment”.

10. CUPP Demands Health Check on Presidential Candidates

In a bid to avoid the difficulties which trailed the country following the ill health incidents and numerous abroad medical tourism of President Buhari in his earlier months in office in 2015, the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has demanded a mental health check of all presidential candidates for the 2019 elections.

The coalition said its alarm over Buhari’s health followed by the allegation made by the president’s wife that the presidency had been hijacked by two people and following the consistent practice of the president not to take questions from Nigerian journalists but only having to read from prepared speeches.

In the statement issued by CUPP’s national spokesperson, Ikenga Ugochinyere, the coalition said, “a country of about 200 million people cannot be living and thriving under the situation of being in doubt of the mental stability of the man who holds their mandate to lead and who is seeking an extension of that mandate”.
