“I still go to the market to buy groceries; I don’t like the idea of living the life of a celebrity. Sometimes when I want to go out, I take public transport. There was a day I boarded the BRT bus in Lagos to get to the popular Balogun market; I could hear the passengers whispering to one another.
“They were arguing if I was the one or not. They were saying Tope Alabi is not a poor person so there is no way she will be on a public bus. When I was about to alight from the bus, I revealed my identity to the driver, and this made many of the passengers to also get down from the bus to take pictures with me.

Saka – I Will Not Ditch Teaching For Acting
Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, is a popular comic actor in advertisements and Nollywood movies. An actor best known for his extraordinary gift of clowning, Oyetoro has appeared in several films, including Wedding Party and Ojukokoro. Yet, unknown to many of his fans, he is as much a hardworking and committed academic who teaches drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin in Lagos State, as he is a talented comic actor.
In an interview with correspondents, the actor said he had no plans to quit teaching for a full-time career in acting. He said, “There is little or no difference between teaching and acting. I enjoy doing both. When you teach in the classroom, you are officially disseminating information. It is almost the same thing as what an actor does on stage or in a film. An actor entertains and at the same time, passes a message to his audience.
“My work as a teacher of theatre arts enhances my practical methodology. When I go outside the classroom to act in a movie or on stage, I gain additional experience and bring back it to the classroom. Such experience enhances my teaching methodology.”
