Obasanjo Sues Radio Presenter For N1bn Over Bola Ige Killing

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has sued an online journalist and radio presenter, Mr. Akanda Oro, popularly known as Awikonko, for N 1bn.

Obasanjo described as untrue claims by the reporter that he had a hand in the assassination of the late Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bola Ige ( SAN), and the slain National Vice -Chairman of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, Marshall Harry.

In the suit filed by his lawyer, Kanu Agabi ( SAN), Obasanjo said the claims by the journalist, which were also posted on social media, were malicious and false. The former president sued the journalist for the sum of one billion naira as damages for the defamation of his hard-earned reputation.

Hajiya Titi Abubakar, the wife of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said she married her husband because of his honesty, sincerity, and integrity. Mrs, Atiku made the remarks when a group, Women for Atiku, paid her a courtesy visit at her Maitama residence in Abuja.

“I get confused whenever I read the false allegations of corruption being peddled by mischief makers against my husband in the media. “I ask myself if they are referring to my husband whom I have been married to for 47 years or a different person.

“No one knows my husband as I do and their descriptions of him are totally those of a different person and not those of the man I love and adore because of his uprightness,” Mrs. Atiku said.

Atiku: Why I’m Starting My Campaign With The Launch of Policy Statement

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has promised to commence his campaign for the 2019 presidential election with a special address to Nigerians on Monday.

He said the occasion will also mark the launch of his policy document for his presidential campaign.

Released by the Atiku Campaign Organisation, the policy states, “In the address, the PDP flag bearer will present his vision for Nigeria and his action plan to achieve it as encapsulated in his policy document.

“The document will promptly be uploaded on his website ( www .atiku.org ) and ( www .atikuabubakar 2019 .org) for all Nigerians to access at no cost.

“The decision of Atiku Abubakar to kick-start his presidential campaign with the launch of his policy document is to reiterate his commitment to run an issue-based campaign.

Bode George: I’m Shocked over Otedola’s Endorsement of Sanwo-Olu

Femi Otedola, the Chairman of Forte Oil Plc has endorsed Sanwo-Olu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in an Instagram post. This development has raised more than a few eyebrows in various quarters, since Mr. Otedola was once rumored to be the preferred governorship candidate for the opposition party, PDP in Lagos State. Former Deputy National Chairman ( South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has expressed shock over the endorsement of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo – Olu, by businessman Femi Otedola.

The PDP Board of Trustees member said, “That is news to me. That is very interesting. Wonders will never cease. It is very shocking .”

When asked to comment on Otedola ’s purported governorship ambition, George stated, “He has always been with us ( PDP). I will call him. I will find out. That is strange .”

Rotimi Amaechi and Gbenga Daniels In Campaign Debate

The Director-General, Atiku Campaign Organisation, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, and the Director-General, Buhari Campaign Organisation, Rotimi Amaechi, will both be on Politics Today, a programme on Channels TV, to discuss issues relating to the 2019 presidential election campaigns.
