Leicester City Record 2-0 Win Over Arsenal To Climb To Second Place

Leicester City are slowly climbing up the Premier League ladder and now occupy second place behind League leaders, Liverpool.

The last time the Foxes played in such huge downpour, they rained nine goals on Southampton with five of them coming in the first half.

They couldn’t score as many goals against Arsenal but goals from Jamie Vardy and Maddison were enough to put all three points in the bag all the same.

Leicester have become so big so many punters found it easy to put their faith in the Foxes defeating Arsenal.

The Brendan Rodgers-led side have now recorded four wins on the trot, with their last defeat coming against league leaders, Liverpool.

They now look week after week like they’re better placed for Champions League football.

Their opponents, Arsenal didn’t do badly, even managing chances of their own. However, the fire power the young, exciting talents in this Foxes side pose was just enough to demolish Arsenal.

Arsenal have now gone four games without a win and now hang on the fringes of the elites.

It’s not going to get easier for Unai Emery in the coming weeks as the shout for Jose Mourinho gets even louder every week.

Arsenal lined up with a defensive mindset, marshalling a flat back five to neutralise the numerous attacking options Leicester City boast.

It was this tacit admission of inferiority that set the tone of what transpired in the game.

The Foxes looked like there was something in it for them to lose while their North London opponents seemed like they were more occupied with how to keep a decent scoreline.

For most parts of the first forty-five minutes, Leicester were marauding forward and trying to work out a way to penetrate Arsenal’s defence.

They were then rewarded for all their hard work after the interval when Jamie Vardy opened the scoring before turning provided for James Maddison who scored the second.

Leicester City 2-0 Arsenal it ended.
