Libya vs Nigeria BREAKING – Nigeria records win against libya

The Super Eagles produced a professional display against Libya by cruising to victory with an emphatic 3-2 win in the return leg of the AFCON Nations Cup qualifier in Sfax, Tunisia.

The match started in usual fashion of attacks and counter attacks until the 14th minute when the man of the moment, Odion Ighalo who has been in fine form, beat the offside trap and latched on to team captain Ahmed Musa’s short pass to tap in a graceful goal.

The Libyan team were still trying to come to terms with Ighalo’s goal when the same player slots in a pass to Ahmed Musa who graciously dribbles past 3 defendera to put the ball past Ahmed Azaqeh, the libyan goalkeeper, putting the Super Eagles 2-0 up with 73 minutes left to play!

Nigeria maintained a lot of the ball but Mohammed Aris Salto of Libya threatened the Nigerian defence a few times and eventually heading a ball from Ahmed Ben-Ali’s freekick to Mohammed Zeibeaa who heads the ball past Francis Uzoho.

The second half resumed with continued hostilities between the two sides until the 73rd minute when Ahmed Ben-Ali scored after Francis Uzoho spewed a save from Sand Masaud’s effort, putting the game at 2-2.

And when it looked like the game was going to end in a draw, the in-form striker Ighalo received a long pass from the other half of the field, opened up space by feinting a shot, and then put the ball into the left bottom corner of the net. 3-2 to the Super Eagles!

The libyan team were shocked and rallied for a goal but the damage was already done and the match ended with the win taking the super eagles top of the table with 9 points and with two games left to play. South Africa is second on the log with 8 points and Libya and Seychelles with 4 and 1 points respectively.
