Match Preview

Liverpool are back in action in the champions league against FC Crvena Zvezda after a narrow 1-0 win against Huddersfield town in the premier league in saturday. Team News

Liverpool

Liverpool have lost 3 of their last 4 Champions League games. However, they haven’t lost back-to-back Champions League games in almost 4 years and are unbeaten in their last 16 homes games in major European competition.

Liverpool have a chance to hit top form against a side who have although been in good form domestically, suffered in the far bigger and more competitive european stage.

Mohammed Salah will be expected to lead the line against the Serbs tomorrow 24th October. He has been on a somewhat goal-drought but scored against Huddersfield over the weekend. He will be seeking to comsolidate on that goal and get firing again.

Saido Mane is clear to face FC Crvena Zvezda

Sadio Mane is back fron injury and is certified fit to play against Cverna Zvezda but Naby Keita and Jordan Henderaon are both ruled out of the encounter.

FC Crvena Zvezda

Cverna Zvezda suffered a serious 6-1 loss in Paris which inadvertently put them in the spotlight due to alleged match-fixing.

The French media have accused a Crvena Zvezda official of placing a hefty bet on his team losing by a five-goal margin and the Serbian giants have been desperate to prove their innocence. They had been unbeaten in 34 matches before their PSG walloping and should not be underrated.

With their international status at stake, the Serbs will be eager to go all out at Anfield. This could be a potentially interesting game as Liverpool could channel their high-pressing quick passing game to outwit the Serbs.

There are no injury concerns at the moment for Crvena Zvezda.

Head to Head

Both teams have met only twice in the past and this is as far back as 1973 in the European Cup( renamed Champions league). Liverpool lost both encounters and will now be looking to exact revenge.
