Makinde congratulates Oyo State new 32-year-old Speaker

– Gov. Seyi Makinde has congratulated the new Oyo State Speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin

– The Gov. also urged the new House of Assembly to work with the executive for the development of the state

According to the latest report, the Oyo State 9th House of Assembly was inaugurated today by the state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde.

Following the inauguration, the new House of Assembly went on to vote in 32-year-old, Adebo Ogundoyin as the new Speaker of the House.

The Oyo State Gov., in his statement has congratulated the New Speaker for his victory in the election.

Gov. Seyi Makinde said his administration will respect the autonomy of the legislature, he said, “Hearty congratulations to the newly elected Honourable Speaker, Adebo Ogunde and Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Fadeyi of the Oyo State House of Assembly. I wish you a successful tenure. Our administration will respect the autonomy of the legislature.”

The Governor in his statement went ahead to urged the newly inaugurated ninth Assembly to work with the executive by putting the interest of the people of Oyo state first in everything they do.

He said, “At the inauguration of the Ninth Assembly of Oyo State, I implored the newly-sworn-in members to work collaboratively with the executive arm of government, putting the interests of the good people of Oyo State who elected us, first.”

The new Speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin is a second term lawmaker in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

He came into the House last year via a by-election following the death of former Speaker, Mr. Micheal Adeyemo.

Adebo Ogundoyin is also a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and he is an alumnus of Babcock University.
