Malta Vs Spain Euro 2020 Qualifiers 26 March Preview

Spain will be looking to make it two wins from two games when they travel away to Malta for their second Euro 2020 qualifier scheduled for Tuesday.

Malta

Malta will be huge underdogs in the match against the La Roja but they are highspirited at the moment coming off the back of a 2-1 win over Faroe Islands.

That was indeed their first home win in a competitive match in as much as 13 years. Malta have competed in every qualifier for the Euros and World Cup competitions but have never made it to any of the competition’s finals.

Speak of facts, they are not a team used to winning and frankly do not have the kind of players to do so. Indeed, all but one of their players play in the Maltese League with the exception, Zach Muscat plying his trade in Portugal for football club, Olhanense.

It is highly unlikely that they can make it out of this group but they will be willing to pull their weight nevertheless.

Spain

Spain made sure to start their qualifiers run on a good note with a 2-1 victory over Norway. That said, it is important to mention that the La Roja’s performance was far from convincing talk more of impressive.

Spain who are now without the likes of Andre Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Silva are now in a different era. They are simply put going through a transitional period.

The attack has been really blunt with Morata, Rodrigo, Asensio, Iker Munian and Jaime Mata sharing only 19 International goals between them where 13 of those goals were scored by Morata who has not been particularly impressive at club level this campaign.

They however still have got goals in them having scored four against Wales and six against Croatia towards the end of 2018, a feat they could easily repeat.
