Man City’s Angelino Sent Out On Loan To RB Leipzig

Bundesliga leaders, RB Liepzig have signed Manchester City’s fullback Angelino on loan with the 23-year-old being the club’s second signing of the transfer window.

Leipzig who are looking to hold on to their Bundesliga lead and progress further in the Champions League are in need of a reinforcement at left-back position and have identified the Spaniard as a worthy replacement.

While the initial deal is a loan, Leipzig have the option of making a permanent move for the Spaniard at £25million.

“Angelino will spend the rest of the season on loan at Red Bull Leipzig,” the Citizens announced via a statement published on the club’s official website.

“The Spanish wing-back has played 12 times for City this season after re-joining the Club from PSV Eindhoven in the summer.

“With City’s injury problems clearing up over the past few weeks, Angelino will have more opportunity for senior football with the Bundesliga side during his loan move.

“Everyone as the Club wishes Angelino good luck for the remainder of the campaign.”

Angelino was in his second spell with the Citizens  having pitched his tent with them as a youth in 2013 from Deportivo La Coruna. He was then sent out on loan spells to New York City FC, Girona, Mallorca and NAC.

It was in the Eredivise however, that he caught the attention of many club, thereby prompting a move from PSV Eindhoeven. He was so impressive in his performances that City decided to re-sign him only a year after they let him leave the Etihad.

At the Etihad, he failed to establish himself as a first team player over the course of the season and has only managed 12 appearances including six league outings. He’s had two assists this term, with one coming against Port Vale in the FA Cup and the other against Oxford United in the Carabao Cup competitions.
