Man United Target, Bruno Fernandes Picks Liverpool Over ManCity
Man United target, Bruno Fernandes has said that he takes a liking to Liverpool over Manchester City.
However, it seemed surprising to many that the midfielder made no reference to the club he looks likeliest to sign for in the summer.
The Portuguese International notched 10 goals and 13 assists last term attracting the attention of Europe’s most elite clubs.
Fernandes believes that Liverpol’s intense, less organised, style of football would be a good fit for him.
The 24 year old is quoted by Record saying:
“I like Liverpool a lot more [than Man City]. It’s a more direct [style of play], more offensive, maybe less organised, but more intense football.
“When you do not have the ball possession, you are more intense.”
The Portuguese added:
“City, without the ball, has the intensity of the eleven, and can in a moment of pressure put the [opposing] team in a corner and end up stealing the ball.
“In Liverpool they are more individual players, especially in the midfield, usually playing three very aggressive players and recovering the ball.
“Then they have three players at the front who are lethal when they have the opportunity, the difference, as seen in this last game [against Barcelona]”.
Former Mancheser United gaffer recently spoke about the 24 year old, stating that he was a good player and was quite impressive with the number of goals he scored.
“I was surprised by the season of Bruno Fernandes.
“It was easy to predict quality, he is a very good player, but scored a very high number of goals for a midfield player.
“It shows that you need to have instinct and qualities to score and he has it all. He strikes the ball well, heads well, cool when he is one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
“He finds space in the penalty area. It’s all there.”
