Manchester City Vs Watford EPL 09 March Preview

Manchester City will host an in-form Watford at the Etihad Stadium knowing fully well that a win would take them four points ahead of second placed, Liverpool and bring them closer to their dreams of retaining the Premier League title.

Manchester City

It might have been hard-fought victories against Bournemouth and West Ham but the English Champions notwithstanding came off it unscathed to record 16 victories in their last 17 games in all competitions.

Surprise losses to Crystal Palace and Leicester City now seem like a lifetime ago with the Citizens dropping points only to Newcastle United since then.

For the first time in weeks and months even, Manchester City finally have their destiny in their hands. Indeed, on the basis of City’s form over the past 10 weeks and Liverpool’s inability to string successive wins since mid-January, the title is the Citizen’s to lose and the Hornets don’t look the likeliest to stop them.

Watford

The Hornets wouldn’t think themselves in the right frame of mind to go toe-to-toe with Manchester City after a 5-0 mauling at the hands of Liverpool.

Watford had taken nine points off the last 12 on offer on either sides of the Liverpool setback conceding only two goals and notching an impressive eight in the process.

The Hornets have a winnable game against Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup around the corner but have all eyes on the premier League for now.

Confidence may be high on the end of the Hornet, but they would have a mountain to climb facing this City team considering the fact they have never won them.
